1 hour of primetime, St. Louis goodness
The Rise Up For Heroes initiative began in April as a way to honor first responders, healthcare workers, grocery store personnel, and the many individuals risking their health to keep our St. Louis community running. The Initiative has also directed people to donate to local resources helping those most affected by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Created by Keith Alper and the St. Louis-based agency collective called the Nitrous Effect, in partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, Rise Up For Heroes organized a series of celebrations honoring frontline workers.
Pop-up “CAREavans” led by mascots Fredbird and Louie were dispatched to St. Louis neighborhoods and hospitals where front-line heroes work and live.
There were special “light up the city” displays and nightly celebrations at 7 pm in neighborhoods all across the region.
This television special is the culmination of those efforts. Produced by Nitrous Effect agencies Vidzu Media, UPBrand, Evntiv, and CPG, the show features St. Louis-based celebrities, athletes, local businesses, and first responders sending their messages of thanks. There’s brand new musical performances, magic tricks, fun bits featuring Cardinals and Blues players, as well as some St. Louis history provided by the Missouri Historical Society.
